COMMENTS FROM THE PRESIDENT
JUNE 2007
What a successful State Tournament and Awards Banquet we
had. The tournament could not end any better then to have Elders and Women’s
State Champion came down to a 3-way tie. With the winner of
the Elders going to
The Junior State Champion in the Girls division was Donna Coons and in the Boy’s division Hayden Cohen. Congratulations to you both. I would also like to congratulate all class winners in the Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles.
I must address a very important issue that the association is facing. John Peplinski Sec/Treas for the past seven years has informed me that he will not seek reelection in 2008. This concerns me in that of all the positions on the EC the SEC/TREAS POSITION IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POSITION ON THE EXECUTIVE COUNCIL. The Association will be in big trouble if we don’t get one of you (the members) to step forward to take this very important position. John will complete 8 years and he feels that it is time to step aside and let someone else take over. As I said earlier this concerns me due to the fact that no one has challenged any incumbent the past two years, so is there anyone willing to step up and be the next Sec/Treas. Call or email me if you are interested in becoming the next Sec/Treas.
I want to thank my home club for the hard work that they put in to make sure that the facilities was in excellent condition. And I must not forget the ladies that did an excellent job each day to make sure that lunch was provided in timely manner. Thanks ladies for a job well done.
As your President I am looking forward to serving the association for the next two years and I will continue to do what is best for our Association. Thanks for your confidence in me and I will not let you down.
The next Executive Council Meeting will be held in October. The date and location will be announced in the September newsletter.
