Club President and Executive Council Meeting
President Hilpertshauser called the meeting to order at
Opening comments by the president. Bob questioned why there have been no changes or applicants for officer positions in the last two years. Bob expressed the membership’s appreciation to Marvin Grubb for 23 years service on the executive council. Bob stated that Byron Jarrett will be available before the doubles to instruct score keepers on the doubles score sheet. Bob mentioned that John Peplinski informed him that he would not be a candidate for reelection for Sec/ Tres in 2008 and that he would be looking for someone to run for this position.
Jerry Michalek reported on the Sun Cruise for Thursday night.
Previous minutes posted on the web site and in the news letter. Motion by Thornsburg, second by Jarrett to accept the minutes.
Treasures report given by John Peplinski. Motion by S. Ingles second by Jarrett to accept the report.
Proposed budget given by John Peplinski. Members discussed each line item and the proposed budget was approved.
Jim Smith, Promotional Chairman reported he has 268 member photos on file. Members may want to update their photo as some are over four years old. Jim stated that he has Junior Program pamphlets and would like to have all the clubs have them for distribution. The program of notifying members who have not renewed their dues has proven to be cost effective. Jim recommended we keep this program in effect.
The proposed by-law changes were presented by Shirley Ingles. The four by-law changes were passed unanimously. Marvin Grubb will make these changes to the by-laws.
Court sanctioning reported by Ron Deckard. Ron requested all clubs to turn in the sanctioning form and he or a director will inspect them. The minimum of a conditional sanction must be complete before the years end.
Dave Jagers suggested having tournament gift certificates on web site. He also suggested having a state motto. Motion by Jagers second Michalek passed unanimously. Motion by Michlek second Jagers to haver a contest for the state motto, passed unanimously. President Hilpertshauser said this will be on the next executive council meetings agenda
Joe Robbins commented on changes for the three person team tournament. Bob also will put this on the next meetings agenda.
Bob Zumbahlen and Ron Deckard will be our delegates at the World Tournament.
