COMMENTS FROM THE THIRD VICE PRESIDENT

We had the drawing for the Cruise, the vacation getaway for three days and two nights, the 4 pair of horseshoes from White Distributors and the two $50 Gift Certificates from Kimmy’s NCHPA Shoe Shop at the Awards Banquet at the State Championship Horseshoe Pitching Tournament in Clearwater on Saturday, April 26, 2008.  We sold 138 tickets at $10 each for a total of $1380.  We said the taxes and fees would come out of the money.  So $312 for the Cruise and $100 for the Round-Trip Airfare and hotel accommodations for three days and two nights for a total of $412.  $1380 minis $412 equals $968 donated to the Junior Scholarship Fund.  Thanks to Boyd Stonerock who paid for the tickets in exchange for his advertising on the back of the tickets.

A Special Thanks to Ralph Condon for getting all these marvelous prizes, so we could donate to the Florida Junior Horseshoe Pitching Scholarship Fund.

I sent a check for $968 to the US Family Foundation for the Florida Junior Horseshoe Pitchers Scholarship Award.  Thanks to everyone who donated.  I wish more tickets would have been sold.

I would like to congratulate Leland Reynolds for winning the Boy’s Junior State Championship and the $100.00 2nd Annual John Reynolds Memorial Junior Scholarship Award which goes to the winner of the Jr. State Champion for the Boys and the Girls.  This year we did not have a Junior Girl State Champion.

The winner of this year’s 7th Annual $1,000.00 Jr. Scholarship Award with the US Family Foundation was Hayden Cohen!  Hayden has been playing horseshoes for 7 years now and won the Boys Jr. State Championship in 2007.  Congratulations Hayden keep up the good work!  We are all really proud of you.

Everyone who attended the Florida State Horseshoe Pitching Championship Tournament in Clearwater was a winner, because they came to share their love for horseshoes.  They came either to play horseshoes or to share their time and talents to make our World of Horseshoes a fun place to be.   A special thanks to all who attended and worked to make the 2008 Florida State Horseshoe Pitching Tournament a fun place to be.

I would like to close with a saying I received in an E-mail “Life is too short for drama & petty things, so laugh insanely, Love truly and forgive quickly”.   I would also like to wish everyone a safe and fun summer with family and friends and lots of ringers in any tournaments you pitch in this summer.  Hope to see you in the Fall at one of the many tournaments we have in our beautiful State of Florida.
