Club Internet Web Sites

In the last year two additional web sites have been activated for the two newest FSHPA clubs.

One is the “On Top of the World” club in Ocala.  The other is the “Del Webb” club in Summerfield.

Anyone wishing to visit either of the new web sites may do so by going to the State web site or another

club web site and using the club map.  Just click on the circle representing the club of interest.

The specific URLs for the two sites are:

On Top of the World - www.geocities.com/towhc

            Dell Webb – www.geocities.com/dwschc

State Championship Special Web Site

The State Championship web site has served its purpose for another year and will be deactivated

by the time this newsletter is published.  Next year you can look forward to an entirely new look to the

championship web site.  Not only will it have all the information available in previous years, but there will be

a contest in which you can win prizes by predicting the winners of the 2010 championships.

New Member Lottery

Over the past couple of years participation in the New Member Lottery has continued to

diminish, reaching a low this year.  Because of this lack of interest the New Member Lottery has been

discontinued.

The winners this year were:

1sl Place - Charles Polski for his sponsorship of Edward Polski

2nd Place - Charlie Thornsburg for his sponsorship of Justin Hite

Pitching Videos

A special web site has been created to display the pitching styles of Florida horseshoe

pitchers.     Techniques vary considerably and it is interesting to see where they release shoes, how they

stand, how they step, if they foul, etc.  You can access these videos from the State web site, from the

Brevard web site and at http://horseshoes.hostrator.com.index.html.  Special videos show Verdell

Woollard and Ron Deckard demonstrating their winning techniques.

FSHPA Member Photographs

In an unfortunate turn of events, two discs containing many of the individual photos I took of

FSHPA members at the State Championships have been lost.  It means those member photos will not be

available for reference.  The loss has made it difficult to identify the photos taken of winners, as names were

recorded only for the individual shots and not for each and every winner’s photo.  So expect some delay in

receiving your photo.
