BCHC COUNT ALL

HANDICAPPED TOURNAMENTS

The Count All handicapped tournaments held at Melbourne has a new format this year.  This year the tournaments will consist of both class competition and over all Count All handicapped total scores.

The class competition will consist of 6 person classes using the format of head to head competition.  The six players will be scheduled on 2 courts with 4 players pitching and two players keeping score each game.  Using this format no money will be taken out of the prize fund to pay score keepers.  Players are required to keep score or provide a score keeper to keep score when it is their turn.

One third of the entry fees minus expenses will be allocated to pay three places in each class.  Two thirds of the entry fees will be placed in the over all count all high handicapped five game series.

For example, given 60 entries, ten classes of 6 persons will be scheduled.  The pay out would be the following:

Each 6 person class would pay $25.00 for first, $15.00 for second and $10.00 for third.  The remaining prize money, less expenses, will be distributed to the six highest count-all handicapped 5 game series totals.  In addition the BCHC will contribute $100.00 to the prize fund.

First place in the major prize list is guaranteed to be at least $300.00.  Major prize list with 60 entries will be:

        1. $320.00          4. $120.00

        2. $200.00          5.   $80.00

        3. $150.00          6.   $60.00

A ladder play-off of the top five qualifiers will be used to determine the final positions.  The play-off will begin immediately after the class pitching.

The above prize list means that more than 50% of the entries will receive some money back.

In addition a player may enter the high game NASAU for an additional $5.00 fee ( $1.00 for each of the five games played ).  The high count-all game each of the five games will receive one fifth of the total NASAU money.  If 50 players elect to pay in to the NASAU then the high count-all game each game would receive $50.00.  One good game in this tournament could pay as much or more as winning first place in most tournaments here in Florida.  Also, a player may win more than one NASAU game.  The NASAU is optional and is not required.

You must have pitched in a minimum of five NHPA sanctioned tournaments in the preceding 12 months to be eligible for the major prize list in these count-all tournaments.  Players with less than 5 NHPA sanctioned tournament may enter, $15.00 entry fee, and be eligible for class prizes only.  The latest published NATSTATS averages prior to the date of the tournament will be used for handicapping purposes.

The BCHC will conduct five count-all tournaments in the 2007-2008 tournament season.  Look to the FSHPA Inc. tournament schedule for tournament dates.  The FSHPA Inc. tournament schedule is included in all FSHPA Inc. newsletters and on the FSHPA Inc. web site.

The BCHC may schedule non-eligible or pacer players to fill out a class.  Non-eligible players may be players that do not have the required 5 tournaments and may not cash in the major prize list but are eligible to win a class prize.

The BCHC invites all sanctioned players to participate in these count-all tournaments.  Non-Florida residents are invited to enter.
