   Comments From First Vice VP

     And Regional Director

At the NHPA convention meeting this year Monroe, LA was awarded the 2011 World Tournament. There were 4 RGS change proposals voted on individually at the NHPA convention meeting and 3 of them passed and 1 of them failed. You can check them out on the NHPA website on the W. T. coverage page.

Florida was well represented at the World Tournament in Springfield, Illinois this year with some 1st place finishes and several 2nd place finishes. Congratulations to all of you. I thought the clay at the W. T. this year was the best I have ever played on. It required very little watering and stayed very soft. I played a little tight and didn’t pitch as good a ringer average as I should have considering how good the clay was. However, many of the Florida players did average really well. You can check out all of the W. T. class results and the W. T. Championship Divisions game by game results on the NHPA website under Historical data.

I visited the NHPA Hall of Fame building in Wentzville, MO on my way to the W. T.

The NHPA Hall of Fame is very professionally done and is a first class facility. I urge all of you to send contributions to the NHPF to help maintain this facility, and if you get the chance you should go visit and pitch on the indoor horseshoe courts.

I am looking forward to the new tournament season. Good Luck and Good Pitching.
