Florida was again well represented at the World Tournament this year in Monroe, LA, with a nice group of 1st place finishers and several in the top 5, for their class. Congratulations to ya’ll. Florida should have another good turn out next year, with the World being held in Knoxville, TN, just a few miles north.

FSHPA had the pleasure this year at the World Tournament, of having several of its members play for the world title.  One of those members, 10 year old Dylan Holmberg went into the World with an average of 49.18% ringers. He played in the Junior Boys Class A, that’s with the BIG Jr. BOYS and placed 7th with a 58.86% average for his 11 games. This qualified him for the Junior Boys World Playoff. He placed 5th in the World with a 58.91 average. Way to go Dylan.   Congratulations to ya’ll.

You can check all of the W.T class results and the W.T championship game results on the NHPA website under World Tournament Coverage.

St. George, Utah was awarded the NHPA World Horseshoe Tournament, in the year 2013. It’s a fur piece out there, but it looks like a nice place to visit and play shoes. Their web site, utahstgeorge.com/horseshoe. Start your plans today.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming tournament season.   C U at the courts.  Good luck and good pitching.

I hope many of you are managing to beat this heat—it’s been so hot I haven’t even picked up my shoes since the end of May when our league ended.  We’ve had plenty of other things to occupy us with travel and visiting family.  School is back in session now. The rhythm of our daily lives is settling down. Now we can allow regular times to practice.

I’m not sure how many pitchers from other states participated in ratio to members in each charter but Florida was represented very well.

I am still in the market for a Promotion Chairman—we do have someone who would be willing to help out, but who has too many present obligations to be the Chairman.  How about you?  Have you got the time?  I’m waiting to hear from you.

Get those horseshoes painted and I’ll be seeing you on the courts.
